The founders of Knight Inlet Lodge, Dean and Kathy Wyatt, pioneered lodge-based bear viewing in the mid 1990s.  Since this time Knight Inlet Lodge has been ardent champions of grizzly bear and salmon conservation and stewardship in Knight Inlet and the Broughton Archipelago of beautiful British Columbia, Canada.  As of November 2017, ownership of Knight Inlet Lodge transitioned to the Nanwakolas Timber Limited Partnership.

Nanwakolas is a First Nations controlled entity and is mandated to secure economic development opportunities for the benefit of its five limited partner First Nations; Da’naxda’xw Awaetlala, Mamalilikulla, Tlowitsis, Wei Wai Kum and K’ómoks First Nations, within their collective traditional territories.
